Joe creates a branch, runs Copilot against the repo, commits the result, and returns a draft PR link." --- # Joe Delegate Skill ## Purpose When Irwin uses `/delegate`, Joe hands the task off to **GitHub Copilot CLI** (`gh copilot -p`). Copilot edits the code autonomously in a branch, and Joe raises a **draft PR** for Irwin to review. ## Trigger Any message starting with `/delegate` (case-insensitive). --- ## Step-by-Step Protocol ### Step 1 — Parse the command The format is: ``` /delegate [task description] /delegate # [task description] ``` **Examples:** ``` /delegate fix the ghost collision bug in kooker-pacman #42 /delegate kooker-service-auth #15 add JWT refresh endpoint /delegate write tests for the player endpoint in kooker-service-user issue 7 ``` Extract from the message: - **repo** — look for a `kooker-*` name or repo prefix; if absent, ask Irwin - **issue** — look for `#` or `issue `; if absent, use `0` (no issue) - **task** — everything else is the task description ### Step 2 — Confirm before running Reply to Irwin with a one-line confirmation before executing: ``` 🤖 Delegating to Copilot CLI: Repo: Issue: # Task: Running now... Creates branch `copilot/issue--` 2. Runs `gh copilot -p "" --allow-all-tools --add-dir ` 3. Commits and pushes all changes 4. Opens a **draft PR** and returns the URL ### Step 5 — Reply to Irwin with the PR link ``` ✅ Copilot finished! Check the session log: /home/joe/.openclaw/logs/delegate--.log ``` --- ## Role Definition Pattern (Context Setting) Before delegating, Irwin may define a role in the conversation: > "You are a senior Go engineer working on kooker-service-auth. The auth service uses JWT with RS256." Joe MUST include this role context in the Copilot prompt so it behaves with the right expertise. Capture the last **role-defining message** from the conversation and prepend it to the task prompt passed to `joe_delegate.sh`. --- ## Error Handling | Scenario | Response | |---|---| | No repo specified | Ask: "Which repo should I delegate this to?" | | Repo not in workspaces + can't clone | Report error + clone command | | `gh copilot` not found | `copilot` binary missing — tell Irwin container needs rebuild | | No changes after Copilot runs | Report and share log path | | PR already exists for branch | Share existing PR URL | --- ## Notes - `joe_delegate.sh` is at `/usr/local/bin/joe_delegate.sh` - `copilot` binary is at `/usr/local/bin/copilot` (GitHub Copilot CLI 1.0.2) - `GH_TOKEN` env var must be set (injected from host `~/.zshrc` via docker-compose) - Session transcripts saved to `/home/joe/.openclaw/memory/snapshots//` - PRs are created as **draft** — Irwin approves and merges - Org branch protection requires 1 review before merge (use Joe as proxy reviewer)
